•
•
•
SECTION 5.0 RESULTS •
•
Total soluble ammonia/ammonium-N concentrations in all soil samples collected from soil
sampling areas 2K and 6K in 2011 were below 0.5 mg/kg. Exchangeable ammonium were •
analyzed at soil samples collected from soil sampling area 2K in 2000 and 2011,and the
results indicate that concentrations have decreased for all three sample intervals. •
The concentrations of TKN in soil samples collected from soil sampling area 2K indicate that •
concentrations have generally decreased overall compared to baseline results in 2000. •
Changes in TKN concentrations from 2006 to 2011 at soil sampling area 2K show con-
centrations decreased slightly in the 0 to 2 feet bgs interval(1,500 to 1,150 mg/kg) and have
stabilized in the 2 to 4 (400 to 444 [duplicate 384] mg/kg) and 4 to 6 feet bgs intervals •
(260 [duplicate 3301 to 308 mg/kg).The concentrations of TKN in 2011 soil samples collected •
from soil sampling area 6K show general decreasing concentrations compared to 2006 •
results in the 0 to 2 and 4 to 6 feet bgs intervals(2,100 to 1,240 mg/kg and 360 to 180 mg/kg,
respectively) and general increasing concentrations in the 2 to 4 feet bgs interval(470 to •
705 mg/kg).The concentrations of total nitrogen(TKN plus nitrate-N)at all soil sample •
depth intervals remain greater than the 200 mg/kg cleanup goal, but appear to have
stabilized or continue to decrease. The pH of soil samples from the original test grove and •
turnaround area have generally increased or stabilized based on the 2011 results relative to •
previous results. The pH generally ranged from approximately 7 to 8 in 2011,except for the •
0 to 2 feet bgs sample collected from soil sampling area 2K,which had a pH of 5.7.
North of Warehouse •
Soil sampling area 5K in the area north of the warehouse is shown on Figure 4-2.Nitrate
concentrations as nitrogen in soil from soil sampling area 5K have decreased from a
maximum of 425 mg/kg(2 to 4 feet bgs)in 2000 to a maximum of 2.65 mg/kg(4 to
6 feet bgs) in 2011.Total soluble ammonia/ammonium-N concentrations measured in 2011 •
ranged from below laboratory detection limits (0 to 2 and 4 to 6 feet bgs) to 0.163 mg/kg
(2 to 4 feet bgs).TKN concentrations have generally decreased or stabilized from baseline •
concentrations. The concentrations of total nitrogen (TKN plus nitrate-N)at all sampling •
depth intervals remain greater than the 200 mg/kg cleanup goal, but appear to have •
stabilized or continue to decrease. The pH of soil samples collected from soil sampling area
5K fluctuated relative to previous results, but ranged from approximately 6 to 8. •
Former Bagging Plant •
Soil sampling areas 3K and 4K in the former bagging plant area are shown on Figure 4-3. •
The concentrations of nitrate-N in soil samples collected in 2011 in the 3K soil sampling area •
have decreased in the 0 to 2 feet bgs soil sampling interval and increased in the 2 to 4 and •
4 to 6 feet bgs intervals relative to the baseline (2000)results.Nitrate-N concentrations in the
2011 soil samples collected from the 4K soil sampling area decreased in all the sampling •
depth intervals relative to the baseline (2000)concentrations. •
•
•
•
•
RDOH12370001(CAH5003.D0CX) •
E90A]SIIWZIOPgpp
•
•
•
