As we discussed in a 1 July 2011 telephone conversation, the Central Valley Water Board
requests the following modification:
On-site disposal of soil cuttings, purge water or decontamination water may occur on surface
soil in vegetated areas of the site. Please take care to not allow liquids to run off the property. Nothing
shall be disposed of in a borehole.
With this change to the workplan, the Central Valley Water Board concurs with the workplan, which
includes discrete soil samples and groundwater samples from temporary monitoring points at 11
locations, to be analyzed for nitrogen and pH. The groundwater samples will also be analyzed for Total
Dissolved Solids.
The workplan also includes composite soil samples collected from each of seven areas that have been
previously sampled at 5-year intervals. Within each identified area, 8 discrete samples will be obtained at
each of 3 depths, the depth-specific samples will be composited for analysis. If it is infeasible for
equipment or hand-augers to advance to the specified depths, Koppel Stockton may shift the sample
7/1/2011
