Subject: Report#040701-L,concerning the measured levels of ambient air and surface contamina-
tion that remain in the 3 bedroom,3 bath, single story home located at:
10285 N. Hildreth Lane
Stockton, CA 95212
This on-site'evaluation was completed at 10:45 AM,ontednesday,•tLys "'.w Wit.`•
The;above tefercnced home was raided by Nazcotics Officers who Had been advised at the time of tiicit.
tiYSltsctfo6iirg3s a'°Srrug Lab,"3itosfpiobably for the manafacnlre
of methamphetamines or "Crank." Because of tho nature and the inherent dangers associated with
clandestine drug manufacturing, and because a number of toxic chemicals are routinely used during
these types of operations, concern remained about the possibility that hazardous and/or toxic residues
might still exist at this location. In completing my evaluation of this structure, however,I observed that
the San Joaquin Sheriff's documentation that had been left in this home indicated the presence of
marijuana ONLY, thus I am not certain why it was necessary for me to validate that this structure was
cleat of the toxic residues commonly associated with"Drug Labs."
In any case,on the morning of Wednesday,7 July 2004,I monitored the ambient air in every part of
this home. In completing this monitoring task,I used two analytical instrusnerlts that had been calibra-
tion checked on the afternoon of Tuesday,6 July 2004. These two instruments are capable of detecting
and quantifying low concentration levels(0.01 -0.10 ppm)of all the volatile solvents commonly used
in the manufacture of illicit drugs. In order,I monitored for:(1) acetone,(2)dichloromethane, (3)iso.-
propanol,
so-propanol,(4)methanol, (5) toluene,(6)chloroform,and finally,(7) 1,1,1-trichloroethane. I was able to
determine that every area within this house was clear of hazardous or toxic levels of the vapors of each
of these seven chemicals.
In addition, I checked all of the most likely work surfaces and chemicals disposal locations in this.
home. In completing these checks I looked for signs.of acidic or alkaline residues. None of the areas I
checked showed any evidence of these types of residues,or of any other type of toxic contamination. It
imy judgment that none of the interior portions of this living unit pose any type of health lid to
_ j1 J
to vfd'it73 6e iequtred Yk be in any part of it.
Shouldyou have any questions on any of the conclusions of this report, please do not hesitate to con-
tact me. Thank you very much for petirlitting me to be of service to you in this matter.
