I
Mr. Kent Ramos
Ramos Oil-Beneto French Camp Cardlock Facility
January 11,2005
Page 2
The laboratory noted that the hydrocarbons detected in soil samples GP24, GP3-16, GP44 and GP5-5
did not exhibit typical diesel chromatograph patterns. Visual observations and PID screening results
collected during the drilling did not indicate the presence of petroleum hydrocarbon contamination I
Based on the laboratory analytical results, field observations, PID readings, and the sites proximity to
the San Joaquin Delta, the low concentrations of hydrocarbons reported as TPH as diesel may be a
result of naturally-occurring organic material in the soil. It is MBEG's opinion the results from this
investigation adequately represent the current site conditions and that no further assessment is
warranted at this time. Since petroleum hydrocarbons constituents were detected in the soiland
j groundwater samples collected from the site, MBEG is required to submit a copy of this report to Mr.
Harlan Knoll at the SJCEHD,
If you have any questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me at (916) 613-
0168. -
Sincerely,
I
MB ENVIRONMENTAL GEOLOGY
jr✓ ✓ z_ D GFD
g p BEg9?
