The petition concludes <br /> that further sail and groundwater investigation, as requested by Sian Joaquin County, is not <br /> warranted and the site should receive closure. As you are aware, we Have conducted an <br /> exhaustive review of the petition and other information. It has t*cn mutually agreed upon by. <br /> yourself, Diane Hinson of the County, Gordon lee Daggs of the Central Valley Regional <br /> Water Quality Control Board and myself that additional sampling will be Conducted prier to. <br /> site closure. The purpose of this sampling is to document that coantaioninant levels are no <br /> higher than previous samples. If the levels are no higher than previous samples, the County <br /> will proceed with site closure. The following are recommendations for the sampling of the <br /> wells: <br /> a Monitoring well number I (MW 1) should be checked to determine if it contains <br /> water. If water is in the well,the well should be redeveloped, After proper <br /> redevelopment, the well should be purged and sampled as per regular protocol (sore <br /> attached sampling rccommendatiens). <br /> o The pump on the nearest domestic well should be removed prior to sampling:. <br /> Purging of this well would be difficult and, because the well is cur endy in use, not. <br /> recommended. The sample should be obtained as per regular proatoacol; using the <br /> following pamrneWs: p1j, electrical conductivity and temperature. After sounding; <br /> for water Level, allowing to equilibrate before sampling, samples should be tjbWjncd <br /> at the level of the pump. <br /> o The sample% should be analyzed for all constituents of concern: TP'H as gasoline, <br /> TPH as diesel, and BT1 X.
