The petition concludes <br /> that further soil and groundwater investigation, as requested by San Joaquin County, is not <br /> warranted and the site should receive closure. As you are aware, we have conducted an <br /> exhaustive review of the petition and other information. It has been mutually agreed Capon by <br /> yourself, Diane Hinson of the County, Gordan I ce Boggs of the Central 'Valley Regional <br /> Water Quality Control Board and myself that additional sampling wilt be conducted prior to <br /> site closure: The following are rmomnmendations for the sampling of the wells: <br /> o Monitoring well number 1 (MW1)should be checked to determine if it contains <br /> water, If water is in tate well, the well should be:redeveloped. After proper <br /> redevelopment, the well should be purged and sampled as per regular protocol (sw <br /> attached sampling recommendations). <br /> 600 <br /> o Thepump on the nearest oniestic well should be removed prior to sampling.. <br /> Purging of this well would be difficult anti, because the well is currently in use, not <br /> Ttx vmmended, The sample should be obtained as per regular protocol. ;> <br /> a 'Ile sample should be analyzed for all consfi(uents of concern: T1'H as gasoline, <br /> TRH as diesel, and BTEX. The laboratory should fallow the quality controliqual ty <br /> assurance (QCIQA) protocols required by the Department of Health Services and <br /> should provide a complete repotl which includes the QCIQA data and any <br /> abnorntalities or interfm=w, obasmed.. <br /> ThI.-closure report shall contain a, summary of all work completed to date including the <br /> results from the sampling identi above. a report shall be submitted to the County, <br /> Regional Board and this office :cte his�.
