Vicki McCartney [EH]
From: Nuel Henderson [EH]
Sent: Monday, December 16, 2013 3:35 PM
To: 'Barton, Jim@Waterboards'
Cc: Adrienne Ellsaesser[EH]; Vicki McCartney [EH]
Subject: 375 Hazelton Ave Case 1
Jim,
As I discussed with you by phone I have reviewed the 375 Hazelton Case 1 for the path to closure; Harlin was
keeping this case open as there is a case 2 on the same site and CUF Claim. Case 1 is clearly ready to close, the
soil gas results were favorable, although taken a bit shallow, but this result is reinforced by the non-detect
benzene concentrations in groundwater(and MTBE), which was at approximately 15 feet in 2006 when this case
was last monitored. Although Harlin want to close both cases at the same time, I think under the LTCP we cannot
deny a closure on case 1 pending the outcome of case 2 when case 1 qualifies. If you've no objections, we'll be
sending this one up too.
Nuel
12/16/2013
