(AGE) is writing this
letter to confirm approval from the San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health
Division (PHS-EHD) for soil samples collected in July 1998 for fate evaluation analysis at 375 West
Hazelton, Stockton, California.
On 29 July 1998, soil samples were collected from soil boring/monitoring well MW-4 utilizing hollow stein
auger drilling techniques. Soil samples collected from MW-4 at depths of 25-feet below surface grade(bsg)
and 45 feet bsg were selected for fate evaluation analysis of intrinsic permeablility, porosity, moisture
percentage and total organic content. The soil sample fate evaluation analysis was reported to the PHS-EHD
in the Quarterly Report-September 1998,dated 29 October 1998. It is AGE's intent to use the results of the
fate evaluation analysis to supplement all ongoing corrective action feasibility studies.
The Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund has informed Sierra Lumber that the above referenced fate
evaluation analysis is not a reimbursable cost because was never requested or approved in writing by the
PHS-EHD. As a result,AGE is requesting written approval by the PHS-EHD for the above referenced fate
evaluation analysis.
Sincerely,
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
J.
