Work Plan Addendum
May 1998
SIERRA LUMBER
375 West Hazelton Avenue, Stockton, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
In accordance with the request of Mr. Bob Long of Sierra Lumber,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,
Inc. (AGE) has prepared the enclosed Work Plan Addendum for 375 West Hazelton, Stockton,
California(the site). This work plan details procedures for the installation of four additional ground
water monitoring wells and performance of a well/sensitive receptor survey. The location of the site
is illustrated on Figure 1-Location Map. A plan of the site is illustrated on Figure 2 -Site Plan.
This work plan addendum was prepared in accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health
Services -Environmental Health Division(PHS-EHD) and Central Valley Regional Water Quality
Control Board guidelines for investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites.
2.0. BACKGROUND
2.1. SITE DESCRIPTION
The site is located in a topographically flat area of west-central Stockton on West Hazelton Avenue
between Lincoln and Monroe Streets. The property is currently occupied by a lumber manufacturing
facility. The facility consists of several warehouse buildings used for the manufacture and storage
of lumber. An above-ground storage tank is currently located on the northwest portion of the
property.
2.2. UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL
In August 1988,one 1,000-gallon gasoline UST was removed from inside the eastern warehouse(see
Figure 1). Upon removal of the UST,two samples were collected from the floor of the excavation:
UST-1 was collected from a depth of 9 feet below surface grade (bsg); UST-2 was collected from
a depth of 15 feet bsg.
Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline were detected in UST-1 and UST-2 at
concentrations of 790 and 1,200 milligram per kilogram (mg/kg or parts per million: ppm),
respectively.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
