1
' 25 November 2002-
AGE-NC Project No 98-0448
' Page 5 of 8
' 4 3 RESULTS OF VAPOR EXTRACTION
Between 11 June 2002 and 11 September 2002, the SVE and LAS remediation systems were
' continuously operational for 2,208 hours, the SVE and LAS systems have totaled 12,568 hours of
operation since initiation on 16 April 2001 (Table 7) During the June, July, August and September
2002 operational period,SVE inlet flow rates ranged between 36 and 55 cubic feet per minute(c$n),
' differential pressures ranged between 0 40 and 125 inches of water, and induced vacuum as great
as 72 inches of water Utilizing a photo ionization meter (PID), SVE inlet hydrocarbon
concentrations were measured between 0 and 450 parts per million (ppm), however a general
concentration trend was not established from the PID field measurements Field measurements are
summarized in Table 6
I
44 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SOIL-GAS VAPOR SAMPLES
' SVE air flow samples were collected on 17 July, 20 August and 11 September 2002 TPH-g was
detected from all influent SVE air flow samples at concentrations as high as 1,100 ugll (17 July
1. 2002) TPH-g was detected in the August and September 2002 effluent SVE air flow samples at
concentrations as high as 59µg/1
I BTEX compounds were detected in all influent SVE air flow samples at concentrations as high as
21 #g/1(xylene, 17 July 2002) Benzene was detected in the July and August 2002 influent SVE air
flow samples at concentrations as high as 4 4µg/1 Analytical results of SVE air flow samples are
' summarized in Table 5 The laboratory reports (McCampbell Analytical Laboratory Work Order
0208347, 0207238 and 0209183) and cham-of-custody forms are presented in Appendix D A plot
of influent TPH-g SVE air flow concentrations versus time is in Appendix,E
I
I45 MASS CALCULATION OF RECOVERED PRODUCT
The hydrocarbon mass removed during the SVE operating period was calculated using the following
equation M = C•Q•t
where M= cumulative Pas s recovered (kg)
C =vapor concentration (kg/m3)
I
Q = extraction flow rate (M3/hr)
' t= operational period, in hours
•
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
