' 10 December 2001
AGE-NC Project No 98-0448
' Page 5 of 8
' and 3 The laboratory reports (McCampbell Analytical Inc I D 73509 through 73514) and chain-of-
custody forms are presented in Appendix C
1 43 RESULTS OF VAPOR EXTRACTION
' Between 01 July 2001 and 13 September 2001, the SVE and IAS remediation systems were
operational for 1,584 hours (Table 6) During the operational period, SVE Inlet flow rates ranged
from 28 to 39 cubic feet per minute (cfrn), differential pressures ranged between 0 25 and 0 50
inches of water, and induced vacuum between 63 and 68 inches of water Utilizing a photo ionization
meter (PID), hydrocarbon concentrations were measured between 0 5 and 238 parts per million
(ppm) at regular Intervals at the SVE inlet, however a general concentration trend was not
' established from the PID field measurements Field measurements are summarized in Table 5
4 4 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SOIL-GAS VAPOR SAMPLES
SVE air flow samples were collected on 11 July, 09 August and 13 September 2001 TPH-g was
' detected from all influent SVE air flow samples at concentrations as high as 1,300 ,ug/l TPH-g was
detected in the 11 July 2001 effluent SVE air flow sample at a concentration of 270 ktg/l, but was
not detected in effluent samples collected in August and September 2001
BTEX compounds were detected in all Influent SVE air flow samples at concentrations as high as
150 4g/1 (xylene, 11 July 2001) Benzene was detected in all influent SVE air flow samples at
concentrations as high as 3 2 ,ug/1 Analytical results of SVE air flow samples are summarized in
Table 4 The laboratory reports (McCampbell Analytical Laboratory I D Nos 72272-73, 74511-12
' and 77938-39 and chain-of-custody forms are presented in Appendix D A plot of influent TPH-g
SVE air flow concentrations versus time is in Appendix-E
4 5 MASS CALCULATION OF RECOVERED PRODUCT
' The hydrocarbon mass removed during the SVE operating period was calculated using the following
equation M = C•Q•t
' where M = cumulative mass recovered (kg)
C = vapor concentration (kg/m3)
Q = extraction flow rate (M3/hr)
It =operational period, in hours
Advanced GeaE nvi ron mental,Inc
I
