04/96/99 TUE 15 32 FAX 209 467 1118 fJ002 <br /> t , <br /> Advanced <br /> ! i <br /> GeoEnvlronmental, Inc. - <br /> 05 April 1999 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 98-0448 - <br /> Mr Harlin Knoll <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services- Environmental Health Division , <br /> 304 East Weber Avenue,Third Floor <br /> Stockton,California 95202 <br /> Subject: Addendum to Remedial Iuvestigatiotl/F'easibility Study Work Plan <br /> SIERRA LUMBER <br /> 375 West Hazelton Avenue, Stockton,California <br /> Dear Mr Knoll <br /> A Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study Work Plan(WP)was previously submitted to the San Joaquin <br /> County Public Health Services-, - Environmental Health Division (PH$-EHD) by' Advanced <br /> GeoEnvironmental,Inc (AGE)on 0' March 1999 for the installation of one ground water extraction <br /> well,two soil vapor extraction(SVt)wells,,one ground water monitoring well and performance of <br /> . a ground water/soil vapor extraction and an in-situ.air sparging pilot study, The following additional <br /> information is being submitted to address comments made by the PHS-EHD during a phone conversation <br /> on 02 April 1999 <br /> 1 The first phase of the proposed feasibility study will consist of installation of one-ground <br /> water extraction well and performance of an eight-hour drawdown pilot test, the ground <br /> water extraction well will be utilized to extract ground water at various pumping rates while <br /> existing ground water monitoring wells MW-1,MW-2, MW-4A and MW-6 will be utilized <br /> to collect drawdown measurements <br /> 2 The second phase of the proposed feasibility study will consist of installation of two soil <br /> vapor extraction(SVE)wells and performance of an eight-hour SVE pilot zest During the <br /> second phase, a vacuum will be induced from one of the two newly-installed SVE wells <br /> concurrently with ground water pumping from the ground water extraction well, vacuum <br /> measurements will be collected from MW-4A and the second of two SVE wells <br /> 3 The third phase of the proposed feasibility study will consist of performance of a 48-hour in- <br /> situ air sparging (IAS)pilot test.
