02 March 1999 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 98-0448 <br /> Page 4 of 10 <br /> several remediation alternatives AGE proposes to drill and install one on-site ground water <br /> extraction well and two on-site soil vapor extraction (SVE) wells to facilitate a pilot study <br /> i Furthermore, AGE proposes to install one ground water monitoring well as part of ongoing <br /> investigation to further delineate petroleum hydrocarbon ground water impact <br /> The scope of work will consist of the following tasks <br /> • Permitting, planning and pre-field work activities, <br /> • Well installation, <br /> • Pilot study, <br /> • Receptor survey, <br /> • Preparation of Corrective Action Plan <br /> 3 1 PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES <br /> Applicable site assessment permits will be submitted to the PHS-EHD As required by PHS-EHD <br /> permitting, a health and safety plan will be prepared in accordance with Occupational Safery and <br /> Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational <br /> Safety and Health Administration, U S Coast Guard and U S Environmental Protection Agency, <br /> 1985) Prior to drilling activities, each proposed drilling location will be clearly marked and an <br /> utility clearance obtained through Underground Service Alert <br /> 32 WELL INSTALLATION <br /> AGE proposes to install one ground water extraction well and two SVE wells at the site to evaluate <br /> feasibility and cost effectiveness of several remediation alternatives Additionally, AGE proposes <br /> to install one downgradient ground water monitoring well to better delineate petroleum-hydrocarbon <br /> impact to ground water Proposed well locations are illustrated in Figure 2 <br /> Based on soil and ground water data collected during the ongoing investigation of petroleum- <br /> hydrocarbon impact, AGE proposes installation of wells in the following areas <br /> • Ground water extraction well located approximately 10 to 15 feet northeast of well MW-2, <br /> • • SVE well located approximately 5 to 10 feet northwest of MW-1, <br /> Adtianced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
