' 29 Ja
• nuary 1999
AGE-NC Project No 98-0448
' elevation data for MW-4B were not utilized to contour ground water elevations (Figure 3) Ground
water monitoring data collected in December 1998 in the area of MW-1 through MW-7 indicated
' that the ground water flow direction was generally toward the north-northeast at a gradient of 0 016
Rift, or approximately 84 feet per mile (Figure 3)
I Due to the low gradient at the site, slight variations in ground water measurements or changes of
recharge/discharge of the local ground water could greatly modify ground water flow direction
' 32 LABORATORY RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
I During the December 1998 sampling event, TPH-g was detected in a water samples collected from
MW-1, MW-2, MW-4A, MW-4B and MW-6 at concentrations ranging as high as 81,000
micrograms per liter(µg/1), however, the laboratory reported either unmodified or weakly modified
gasoline was significant (MW-1, MW-2, MW-4A and MW-4B) or heavier gasoline range
compounds was significant (MW-6)
Various BTE&X compounds were detected in water samples collected from wells MW-1, MW-2,
MW-4A, MW-4B and MW-6 at concentrations ranging as high as 17,000 µg/l (xylenes, MW-4A)
The greatest benzene concentration was detected from MW-4A at a concentration of 3,000 µg/l
MTBE was detected in a water sample collected from well MW-4B at a concentration of 1 5 µg/l,
DIPE was detected from MW-1 and MW-4B at concentrations of 34µg/l and 1 1 ug/l, respectively
No other fuel oxygenating compounds were detected from analyzed water samples
Analytical results of the ground water samples are summarized in Table 2 The laboratory reports
(McCampbell Analytical Inc I D No 00069 through 00076) and chain-of-custody forms are
presented in Appendix B
I
4 0. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS
Based upon po data collected during the December 1998 monitoring event, AGE concludes
• Ground water was inferred to be: flowing toward the southwest at a calculated gradient of
0 016 ft/ft, or approximately 84 feet per mile (Figure 3) Due to the low gradient at the site,
I slight variations in ground water measurements or changes of recharge/discharge of the local
ground water could greatly modify ground water flow direction Due to an anomalous
measurement, ground water elevation data for MW-4B were not utilized to contour ground
water elevations
Adianted GeoEnvironmental,Inc
I
