i
Quarterly Report - June 1998
' SIERRA LUMBER
375 West Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
' In accordance with a request from Mr Bob Long of Sierra Lumber,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,
Inc (AGE)has prepared this Quarterly Report for 375 West Hazelton Avenue, Stockton, Cahforiva
The location of the site and the immediately surrounding area are illustrated on Figure 1 Site
structures and monitoring well locations are depicted on Figure 2
The objective of the work was to monitor dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations in ground
water and to characterize ground water' flow direction and gradient on the site This report is
prepared in accordance with guidelines established by the San Joaquin County Public Health
iServices - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and the Central Valley Regional Water
Quality Control Board(CVRWQCB) for investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites A
summary of previous investigations at the site was included in the Report 4''' Quarterly Monitoring,
dated 21 November 1997,prepared by John P Cummings & Associates
2.0. PROCEDURES
21 MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES
On 16 June 1998, the depth to ground water in each monitoring well was measured to the nearest
0 01 foot utilizing a Solist water level meter Ground water elevations from ground water monitoring
wells MW-1 through MW-3 were then calculated by subtracting the measured depth to ground water
from the surveyed casing elevations (Table 1) Ground water elevations were plotted and contoured
on a scaled site map (Figure 3)
After water levels were measured, approximately ten gallons (a minimum of three well volumes per
well) of water were bailed from wells MW-1 through MW-3 utilizing disposable polyethylene
bailers and new nylon rope Temperature, pH and conductivity were measured at regular purge
volume intervals from, each, well using an ICM Model 52200 water analyzer to monitor for
stabilization of these characteristics during purging Stabilization data and field logs are included
with Appendix A Purged ground water was containerized in 55-gallon drums and stored on-site in
an area lacking,general public access
2 2 GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION
The ground water levels in monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-3 achieved a minimum of 80
3
Advanced GeoEnâ–șironmental,Inc
