Z ,
I r
e ,
20 July 1998
j AGE-NC Project No 98-0448
I A
' 'MW-2 and the reported non-detection of BTE&X from MW-3 may be due to the
submergence of the screen intervals beneath the ground water table
' m ^ The greatest concentrations of dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons continues to be in the area
of wells MW-1 and MW-2, near the "core" of hydrocarbon-impacted soil
• Concentrations of benzene detected in MW-1 and MW-2 were above the State of California
Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCL) for drinking water of 1 0 ppb
• Concentrations of toluene exceeded the MCL of 150 ppb in well MW-2 concentrations of
' s ethylbenzene exceeded MCL of 700 ppb in wells MW-1 and MW-2, and concentrations of
xylenes exceeded MCL of 1750 ppb in,well MW-2
• Utilizing EPA method 8260, MTBE was detected at concentrations higher than the
laboratory reporting limns to the ground water sample collected from MW-2, whereas DIPS,
ETBE,TAME and TBA were not detected in any samples at concentrations above laboratory
' reporting limits
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon data collected from"the site, AGE recommends
• Installation of additional ground water monitoring wells is warranted northwest, south, east
and southeast of the former UST location At least one well should be installed to assess
vertical migration of petroleum hydrocarbon contaminants (i e a dual-completed well)
• Continue quarterly monitoring, the next event should be scheduled for September 1998
5.0. LIMITATIONS
A I ~
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and shill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based, upon
analytical results provided by, an independent laboratory Evaluations of the geologic/hydrogeoiogic
conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation are made from a limited number of
i, available data paints (i a monitoring wells), and subsurface conditions may vary away from these
data points No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the professional
recommendations contained to this report
f '
i advanced GmEnviroomcnigl,Inc
f
