i f
' 26 February 2004
AGE-NC Project No 98-0448
' Based on SVE/IAS remediation data collected between 09 October 2003 and 29 December 2003,
AGE concludes
' • The volume of hydrocarbons extracted by the SVE system was calculated to be
approximately 89 pounds, or equivalent to an approximate volume of 14 21 gallons of
' gasoline extracted (Appendix H)
• The average SVE inlet flow rate was estimated to be 28 cubic feet per minute (cfm) at an
' average differential pressure of 0 25 Inches of water (Table 7)
• Since Initiation of the SVE system(April 2001),the total volume of petroleum hydrocarbons
extracted is estimated to be approximately 253 gallons (Table 8)
' • The SVE system appears to have extracted the majority of the available adsorbed soil
contamination, as based on the decline trend in vapor samples collected
7.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon the results of this investigation, AGE recommends
I • Installation of one additional SVE well and one additional IAS well in an area Immediately
west of MW-2
I • Confirmation soil borings should be advanced at the site to at least 50 feet bsg to evaluate
soil and ground water clean-up progress
• Continued quarterly ground water monitoring and sampling of wells MW-1, MW-2,
MW-4A, MW-4B and MW-6, ground water sampling results will be used to monitor
progress of the SVE and IAS remediation system
• Continued operation of the on-site SVE and IAS remediation system, remediation progress
will be re-evaluated on a quarterly basis
I • On 17 June 2003, AGE installed air-flow pressure regulators at the well-heads of AW-1
through AW-4 and MW-4B, which will allow independent control of air-flow to each IAS
well, and allow continuous air sparging from all IAS wells in the IAS network Therefore,
I AGE recommends continuous air sparging from IAS wells AW-1 through AW-4 and
MW-4B
f
•
IAdvanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
