INTRODUCTION
I At the request of Mr Bob Long of Sierra Lumber, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has
prepared this report of environmental activities conducted at 375 West Hazelton Avenue(the site),
Stockton, California The objectives of the activities were to monitor dissolved petroleum
' hydrocarbon concentrations in ground water, to characterize ground water flow direction and
gradient, and to monitor the progress and effectiveness of soil vapor extraction(SVE)and in-situ air
sparging (IAS) remediation at the site during the fourth quarter 2003 (October, November
I December) The site setting is illustrated on Figure 1 Site structures and monitoring well locations
are depicted on Figure 2
Due to declining petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations documented in both ground water and soil-
vapor at the site,a`rebound'response test was performed at the site between 29 December 2003 and
28 January 2004 During this period, SVE and IAS operations were suspended The purpose of the
`rebound'response test was to evaluate whether or not ground water`spikes' or significant increases
of dissolved contaminant concentrations would occur following the SVE/IAS hiatus in selected
. ground water monitoring wells, SVE wells or the SVE influent At the conclusion of the rebound
Iresponse test, the SVE and IAS remediation system was restarted on 28 January 2004
This report has been prepared in accordance with guidelines issued by the California Regional Water
Quality Control Board-Central Valley Region(RWQCB) for investigation of underground storage
tank(UST)sites A summary of previous investigations at the site was included in Corrective Action
Plan, dated 15 February 2000 Analytical data for ground water acquired to date is included in this
report
I2.0. GROUND WATER MONITORING AND SAMPLING PROCEDURES
I On 29 December 2003, ground water monitoring and sampling was performed at the site on selected
ground water monitoring wells, on 28 January 2004, the same wells were re-sampled at the site as
part of a rebound response test Ground water monitoring and sampling procedures for the site were
outlined in Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study Work Plan, dated 02 March 1999,prepared by
AGE and approved by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) by
letter dated 07 April 1999 As-built monitoring well construction details also are summarized in
Table 1 ;
I
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
