18 May 2006
AGE-NC Project No 04-1239
' report(CTEL Project No CT214-0602020),quality assurance and quality control(QA/QC)reports,
and chain of custody forms are included in Appendix E
y S 1
3 3 GROUND WATER GRADIENT AND FLOW DIRECTION
' At the time of the March 2006 sampling event, depths to ground water ranged from 16 94 feet
(MW-9)to 2105 feet(MW-14)below the tops of the well casings Ground water elevation in wells
MW-9 through MW-11 ranged from 6 82 feet(MW-9)to 7 00 feet(MW-10)below mean sea level
' (MSL,Table 1),and averaged approximately 6 89 feet below MSL,indicating an increase in average
ground water elevation of 3 32 feet since the last monitoring event in November 2005 During this
monitoring event, the ground water level was as high as 3 06 feet above the screened intervals in
' shallow wells MW-9 through MW-12
Ground water at the site was inferred to be flowing toward the west-southwest under a hydraulic
' gradient of approximately 0 004 foot/foot (ft/ft) Figure 3 illustrates the contoured ground water
elevations as measured on 22 March 2006
34 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
' TPH-g was detected in wells MW-9 and MW-14 at concentrations of 86,000 micrograms per liter
(pg/1) and 1,900 pg/l, respectively
BTEX compounds were detected in wells MW-9 and MW-14 at the following maximum
concentrations 31 µg/1 benzene (MW-14), 7,300 µg/1 toluene (MW-9), 4,600 µg/l ethylbenzene
(MW-9), and 28,900 pg/l total xylenes (MW-9)
No other analytes were detected at or above laboratory detection limits in the ground water samples
analyzed The analytical results of the ground water samples collected on 22 March 2006 are
summarized in Table 2 The laboratory report(CTEL Prod ect No CT214-0603146),QA/QC reports,
and chain of custody form are included in Appendix F
I
4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based on the data collected from the site, AGE concludes
IIn general, clayey silt, silty clay, and clay were encountered from surface grade to 15 feet bsg
• in boring MW 12, with sandy silt identified at 20 feet and 25 feet bsg Dark gray to green,
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
I
