' 01 February 2006
AGE-NC Project No 04-1239
' 32 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
TPH-g was detected in well MW-9 at a concentration of 59,000 micrograms per liter (µg/1)
' BTEX compounds were detected in well MW-9 at the following concentrations 15 µg/1 benzene,
4,500 pg/l toluene, 1,900 µg/1 ethylbenzene, and 10,700 µg/1 total xylenes
' No other analytes were detected at or above laboratory detection limits in the ground water samples
analyzed The analytical results of the ground water samples collected on 23 November 2005 are
' summarized in Table 2 The laboratory report (CTEL Project No CT214-0511181), quality
assurance/quality control (QA/QC) report, and chain of custody form are included in Appendix C
Documents confirming the upload of laboratory electronic deliverable format(EDF)files and depth
' to water measurements to GeoTracker are included in Appendix D
' 4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based on the data collected from the site, AGE concludes
At the time of the November 2005 sampling event, depths to ground water ranged from
20 13 feet to 21 13 feet below the tops of the well casings Ground water elevation at the site
ranged from 10 01 feet to 10 43 feet below MSL, and averaged approximately 10 21 feet
below MSL, indicating a decrease in average ground water elevation of 0 61 feet since the
Ilast monitoring event in September 2005
• Ground water at the site was inferred to be flowing toward the southwest under a hydraulic
gradient of approximately 0 007 ft/ft
I • Petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations in well MW-9 decreased between the September and
November 2005 ground water monitoring events TPH-g was detected in well MW-9 at a
I concentration of 59,000 µg/1 BTEX compounds were detected at the following
concentrations 15 [ig/1 benzene, 4,500 µg11 toluene, 1,900 µg/1 ethylbenzene, and
10,700 µg/1 total xylenes
• The lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbon contamination is defined to the south by well
MW-11 and to the southwest by we]I MW-10 However, the current upgradient well is
significantly impacted with hydrocarbons, demonstrating either a shift in ground water flow
direction or an additional source for the dissolved hydrocarbons plume
I
4•
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
I
