Tracer Research Corporation
i
a
10 HOLLY SUGAR SITE INVESTIGATION
Tracer Research Corporation (Tracer Research)performed a Vapor Trace®
shallow soil gas and groundwater investigation at the Holly Sugar site located at
20500 Holly Drive in Tracy, California The investigation was conducted on June 30,
1994 for Harding Lawson Associates (HLA) of Sacramento, California
1 11 Objective
The purpose of the investigation was to determine the presence of possible
subsurface contamination by screening shallow soil gas and groundwater for the
presence of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) Soil gas and groundwater samples
were collected and analyzed for the following analyte class and compounds
Analyte Class: Hydrocarbon.
benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, xylenes (BTEX)
total volatile hydrocarbons (TVHC)
12 Overview of Results
' This investigation was to be a groundwater survey, however, groundwater
was not encountered at all locations Therefore, soil gas samples were collected and
analyzed at several locations and groundwater was collected and analyzed when
encountered A total of six soil gas and five groundwater samples were collected from
i
eleven sample locations Soil gas samples were collected at 12 to 14 feet below
ground surface (bgs) Groundwater samples were collected at 11 to 17 feet bgs A
summary of the results of the soil gas and groundwater investigation is presented in
Tables la and lb on the following page
July 19,1994 Pago 1 1140291S
