Compaction
test results are tabulated on the enclosed Field Density Report Summaries. Test locations are given by
reference point and are shown on the attached Compaction Test Location Maps(Figures 1-2).
At this time, there are no buildings proposed for construction on the backfill. Nonetheless, the intent is to
compact the backfill such that it would meet standard building code compaction rcquirements. The standard
building code compaction specification is 90%compaction. However, the site lies in a flood plain and prior to
commencement of backfill, the San Joaquin County Flood Control Department was asked whether they had
any compaction requirements in the flood plain, over and above the standard 90%criterion. According to the
County, additional compaction would be required if the fill was part of a levee or a channel. The site is not
part of a levee or a channel. No further requirements were specified.
The grading has included
-removal of petroleum impacted soils to the satisfaction of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department,
-placement and compaction of a layer of pea gravel in the bottom of the excavation to the point of any water
entry and
-placement and compaction of on-site materials as potential structural fill.
The status of the test results is noted on the enclosed summary of field density test results. The test results
indicate that the referenced backfill has met the specified compaction requirements. Relative densit
project is based upon maximum density as determined by ASTM D 1557. lt/N ey
All work has been completed in accordance with the approved plans and specifications. ' y
w No.32537 m
aG Fxp:06/30/11
We appreciate being of service to you on this project.
