1
r Groundwater samples were collected from the two wells using a disposable Teflon@ sampling
bailer, packed in an iced cooler and transported for analysis under chain-of-custody
documentation to NEI/GTEL Environmental Laboratories, Inc , a state of California certified
analytical laboratory (#2147) The laboratory analyzed both groundwater samples for Total
' Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH)-as-gasoline, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX)
and methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) by modified EPA Method 8015/8020 The laboratory
' reports and chain-of-custody documents are included as Appendix B
Analytical results of the groundwater samples indicate that dissolved concentrations of gasoline
hydrocarbons continue to exist in groundwater beneath the site Groundwater sampled from
VW-2 contained 2,400 parts per billion (ppb) of TPH-as-gasoline, 110 ppb of benzene and 1,800
' ppb of MTBE Groundwater sampled from VW-1 contained 210 ppb of TPH-as-gasoline, 1 4
ppb of benzene and 90 ppb of MTBE The current and historical analytical results are
summarized in Table 2
1
3
