QUARTERLY MONITORING REPORT
SECOND QUARTER 1996
San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery
' Harding Way and Cemetery Lane
Stockton, California
INTRODUCTION
1
On April 26, 1996 groundwater monitoring and sampling was performed at the above-referenced
' site The site is located approximately one mile north of downtown Stockton, California (Figure 1)
' GROUNDWATER GRADIENT
Depth-to-groundwater measurements were taken in all five monitoring wells to evaluate
groundwater flow and gradient characteristics The depth-to-groundwater at the site ranged from
46 94 to 48 50 feet below ground surface The elevation of the groundwater surface beneath the
' site ranged from a high of 29 94 feet below mean sea level (msl) in MW-1 to a low of 30 53 feet
below msl in MW-2 Groundwater levels have risen an average of 5 95 feet since the last
' monitoring event on January 9, 1996 Groundwater monitoring data are summarized in Table 1
' The groundwater flow direction and gradient are illustrated on the groundwater surface map
(Figure 2) The maximum groundwater gradient was calculated at 0 005 ftlft in an easterly
direction This is relatively consistent with previous quarterly monitoring results
GROUNDWATER SAMPLING AND ANALYSES
Each monitoring well was purged of at least three well volumes using a decontaminated
submersible pump Sample Information Forms documenting well monitoring, purging and sampling
data are included as Attachment 1
1
1
