4 0 CONCLUSIONS, RECOMMENDATIONS AND PROJECT STATUS <br /> Groundwater levels have risen an average of 2 77 feet, since February 2000 The groundwater <br /> flow direction and gradient remain consistent with historical trends <br /> Concentrations of dissolved gasoline hydrocarbons in thesam I <br /> roundwater <br /> 9 samples collected this <br /> quarter from MW-6, MW-7, VW-1 and VW-2 show a continued decline from previous sampling <br /> results However, MTBE and 1,2-DCA were detected for the first time in MW-7, downgradient of <br /> the former UST Groundwater from Irrigation Well #2 did not contain detectable concentrations of <br /> any of the gasoline constituent compounds analyzed <br /> After shut down of the SVE system from February 15 through April 13, 2000, ENSR continued to <br /> operate the system According to ENSR, the SVE system has reached a point of limited continued <br /> effectiveness and should be removed from the site <br /> Based on these conclusions, Ramage Environmental recommends the following course of <br /> environmental corrective action <br /> 1 Continue to monitor and sample groundwater from the four water table wells and Irrigation Well <br /> #2 on a quarterly basis The next quarterly groundwater monitoring is scheduled for August <br /> 2000 <br /> 2 Drill a soil boring near the former UST to confirm the remediation of vadose zone soil and to <br /> evaluate the vertical extent of impacted soil and groundwater On April 24, 2000, Ramage <br /> Environmental submitted to PHSIEHD, Letter Work Plan, CPT Confirmation Soil and <br /> Groundwater Sampling On May 19, 2000, PHSIEHD approved the work plan Currently, the <br /> cost to implement the scope of work is pending pre-approval by the UST Cleanup Fund This <br /> work should be completed during the next calendar quarter <br /> 3 Remove the SVE system from the site Permanent system shut-down and removal should be <br /> coordinated between ENSR and PHSIEHD The cost to remove the system and restore the site <br /> is currently pending pre-approval by the UST Cleanup Fund This work should be completed <br /> during the next calendar quarter <br /> . 7 <br /> 1 <br /> 1 <br />
