The purpose of the <br /> subsurface investigation is to further evaluate the vertical and horizontal extent of petroleum <br /> impacted soil and groundwater in the vicinity of the former underground storage tanks (USTs). <br /> This work being done at the direction of San Joaquin County Public Health Services, <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) in correspondence dated September 20, 2000. <br /> The scope of work includes obtaining permits, advancing three soil borings and collecting soil <br /> samples, completing the borings as monitoring wells, developing and sampling the wells, <br /> laboratory analysis of selected soil and groundwater samples, and preparing a summary report. <br /> The scope of work is described in detail in the following paragraphs. <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> Planning and Permits <br /> ATC has included the completed well installation permit application for the proposed subsurface <br /> investigation. The permit application and associated fees (check # 498) are attached to this <br /> workplan (Attachment 1). Following the approval of this workplan and monitoring well permit <br /> application, ATC will schedule field personnel and equipment, notify Underground Services Alert <br /> to locate underground utilities as required, and perform any other necessary field preparation and <br /> job start-up activities. <br /> w:192054.00011reporls\Workpian2.doe 1 <br />
