Laboratory analytical results showed detections in the samples taken from the
northern tank area and the results are as follows. Detctions of MTBE were
encountered in four borings in the northern tank area. The highest detection of
MTBE was in a shallow groundwater sample taken from GP-3 which'contained
levels at 1,700 ppb MTBE. Additional detections of MTBE were made in the
shallow groundwater samples taken from borings GP-2, GP-4 and GP-5 Benzene
was encountered at low levels in two of the borings. The detections of benzene f
were found in the shallow groundwater samples taken from borings GP-4 and GP- I
5. TPH Gasoline, TPH diesel, and all other oxygenate and volatile constituants
were non detect. h
i
Laboratory analytical results showed detections in the samples taken from the i
southern tank area and the results are as follows: Detections of diesel were
I
encountered in two geoprobe borings which were located in the center of the
former tank pit. The detections were in the shallow groundwater in boring GP-9
and GP-12: The levels were 5,200 ppb and 11,000 ppb, respectively. :Detections
of MTBE consist of two detections in the same borings, GP-9 and GP-12. The
highest detection was in boring GP-12 which had levels of 250 ppb. Lastly,
volatile gasoline constuants Toluene, Ethyl benzene, and Xylene were encountered
at low levels in boring GP-12. All other water samples were nori detect for
oxygenates, and volatile constants. No detections of groundwater impact were
made from water samples collected outside the former tank pit in the southern
area.
TABLE II
SUMMARY OF GROUNDWATER ANALYTICAL RESULTS
TOTAL PETROLEUM HYDROCARBONS AS GASOLINE AND DIESEL
OXYGENATES AND VOCs
Boring Number Sample EPA Method EPA Method EPA Method 8260 MTBE, EPA Method 8020 BTEX(ug/l.)
Depth 8015 Gasoline 8015 Diesel ETBE,TAME,DIPE,TBA, and 82611 VOCs(ug/L)
(Feet) (ug/0 (ug/L) Ethaol,Methinol
(ug/L)
GP-1 Shallow ND ND NDND
GP-1 Deep ND ND ND ND
GP-2 ShallowND ND 160 MTBE ND
GP-3 Shallow ND ND 1,700 MTBE ND
GP-4 Shallow ND ND 260 MTBE 16.0 Benzene
I
Avalon Environmental Consultants Kashmir 6 Dalwidner Dhoot
20 Corporate Plaza 9627-0014
Newport Beach,California .. 8 15600 S.Harlan Road
E I
