Ms. Margaret Lagorio,SJCEHD January 5,2005
Work Plan for Additional Site Assessment and Project No. 2033-15600-01
Evaluation of Remedial Alternatives
Joe's Truck Plaza,Lathrop,California
Page 9
summary tables of analytical data, surveyor's report, certified analytical reports, and
boring logs.
Stratus will submit an IRAP to SJCEHD by January 20, 2005. This IRAP will propose
the temporary installation of a groundwater pump and treat system.
Stratus will submit a separate report for the analysis and evaluation of chemical
conditions with regards to ozone injection. Depending on the results of the analysis and
the chemist's evaluation, this report will either recommend that bench-scale testing be
implemented to further evaluate the feasibility of this technology, or that further
evaluation be discontinued.
SCHEDULE
Immediately upon submitting this work plan, Stratus will initiate negotiations with the
adjacent property owner to allow installation of wells MW-8 and MW-9. An
encroachment permit package will be submitted to the City of Lathrop for installation of
well MW-11. We anticipate that the access agreement and encroachment permit can be
secured within 45 days.
Upon receiving approval of this work plan, the proposed work will be scheduled and a
well permit application package will be submitted to SJCEHD. It will likely take
approximately three to four weeks for a drilling contractor to become available. The
drilling should be completed within one week of initiating field activities, and the
surveying, development, and sampling will likely require two additional weeks to
complete. A report documenting the installation of the monitoring wells will be
submitted approximately 6 weeks after completion of drilling (approximately April 15,
2005).
Samples for feasibility analysis will be collected and analyzed in conjunction with well
installation activities. We anticipate it could take up to 45 days for the chemist to
complete the analyses and prepare a report.
The proposed IRAP will be submitted by January 20, 2005. This IRAP will propose a
schedule for the installation and start-up of the temporary system.
f
K:Uoe's Truck Plaza\Work PlansUoes workplan 010505.doc .
7
