Ms Margaret Lagro►o August 11,2004 <br /> Subsurface Assessment,Report Project No 2033-15600-01 <br /> Joe's Truck Plaza, 15600 South Harlan Road,Lathrop,CA <br /> Page 2 <br /> gasoline, and one 4,000-gallon UST used to store diesel The current station <br /> configuration is shown on Figure 2 <br /> PREVIOUS ENVIRONMENTAL WORK <br /> Previous assessment activities conducted by Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGI) <br /> and Avalon Environmental Consultants (Avalon) are listed below <br /> • In January 1997, AGI advanced six soil borings in the vicinity of the northern <br /> and southern tank pits, and one boring in the vicinity of former septic leach <br /> lines, collecting soil and grab groundwater samples <br /> • In November 1998, Avalon advanced fifteen soil borings in the vicinity of the <br /> former northern and southern UST pits <br /> • In February 2000, Avalon installed six groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1 <br /> through MW-6) <br /> • In January 2001, Avalon advanced four soil borings along the northern border <br /> of the site, and six soil borings were advanced on the adjacent property <br /> •� • In February 2002, Avalon installed four more monitoring wells (MWO-1 <br /> through MWO-3 and MWO-1X) <br /> Quarterly monitoring and sampling was initiated in February 2000 Groundwater flow <br /> direction is generally northeast to east at flow magnitudes ranging from 0 00083 to <br /> 0 0015 ft/ft Stratus submitted a Site Conceptual Madel (SCM) report to the SJCEHD on <br /> September 4, 2003 The SCM concluded that the lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbon <br /> impact to soil appears to be adequately characterized in all directions except to the east of <br /> the site, but that the vertical extent of soil impact remained uncharacterized In addition, <br /> the SCM concluded that the lateral extent of dissolved hydrocarbons remained <br /> uncharacterized to the east and west, and that the vertical extent of the dissolved <br /> hydrocarbons had not been completely assessed <br /> SITE INVESTIGATION ACTIVITIES <br /> The primary objectives of this investigation were to further characterize the hydrogeologic <br /> conditions beneath the site, and to further assess the vertical and lateral extent of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbon impact to soil and groundwater To accomplish this objective, Stratus <br /> implemented the following work activities <br /> • Advanced eight CPT borings (CPT-1 through CPT-8) to depths of <br /> approximately 80 to 100 feet below ground surface (bgs) <br /> �l <br /> P Voe's Truck Plaza\ReportslCPT report 08-2004 doe <br />
