U <br /> . 2.1 Purpose <br /> 0 The purpose of this Phase II Groundwater Assessment is to determine the <br /> groundwater gradient direction and the degree of impact from a hydrocarbon <br /> release specifically MTBE identified in a previous investigation <br /> 2.2 Methodology <br /> All work was performed in accordance with the "Scope of Work," prepared and <br /> submitted to the client and the San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division Site Mitigation Unit (PHS/EHD) by Avalon on <br /> October 9, 1999 (Appendix II) Prior to conducting this groundwater <br /> Assessment, Underground Service Alert (USA) was contacted to check the <br /> proposed well locations for conflict with public utilities, such as gas or <br /> electrical lines <br /> As required by the PHS/EHD, a receptor survey of domestic, municipal, <br /> R agricultural, or industrial wells within a radius of 2,000 feet was performed <br /> This survey is included in Appendix VII <br /> Six groundwater monitoring well locations were selected on the subject <br /> . property The well locations were selected based upon previous investigations <br /> on the subject property Monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-4 were located in <br /> former underground tank excavation locations, and the remaining four wells <br /> were placed at the remaining four corners of the subject property On February <br /> 11, 2000, the six borings were drilled to a depth of 20 feet bgs and converted <br /> to groundwater monitoring wells At the conclusion of drilling, the borings <br /> 1 were converted to monitoring wells and were constructed using 2" PVC casing <br /> (See Detail Appendix II) On February 12, 2000, the six wells were developed <br /> On February 24, 2000, groundwater samples were collected and depth to <br /> groundwater measurements were made <br /> 1 3.0 GENERAL SITE INFORMATION <br /> 3.1 Site Location <br /> The subject property is located at 15600 South Harlan Road, Lathrop, County <br /> 0 of San Joaquin, California The subject property consists of a gasoline service <br /> station providing service for large diesel tractor trailer trucks with a separate <br /> area providing service to automobiles The subject property consists of square <br /> lot, approximately 300 feet by 300 feet with a rectangular mint mart and two <br />` dispenser areas One of the dispenser areas is intended for automobile use <br /> (supplied by underground storage tanks) and the other (supplied by above <br /> Avalon Environmental Consultants 9627-001-2 <br /> Joes Truck Plaza 15600 South Harlan Road <br /> March 20, 2000 3 Lathrop, California <br /> 1 <br />
