Soil Excavation and Sampling Activities atrThiels uGoodyear, 1131 Holly Drive; Tracy, <br /> California(SEMCO Project 96-0315.1) <br /> Dear Ms. Lagorio: <br /> i <br /> This letter details the voice mail message I left you on June 12, 1997, regarding soil excavation and <br /> sampling activities scheduled at Thiels Goodyear, 1131 Holly Drive, Tracy, California. --The time line <br /> and scope of work is summarized below. <br /> Week of June 15, 1997. <br /> • Collect a soil sample from the hydrocarbon-affected soil and submit it to a state-certified <br /> laboratory for analysis of soluble lead (waste extraction test) and reactivity, corrosivity, and <br /> i ignitability(RCI) for Class H disposal profiling. <br /> June 26, 1997: <br /> Remove the visqueen-wrapped.hydrocarbon-affected soil.from the former waste oil tank�� <br /> cavity and stockpile it onsite. The soil was placed back into the cavity and covered with clean <br /> I fill soil following tank removal to facilitate continued use of the site until the soil sample <br /> 4 analytical results were available to indicate proper disposal. <br /> Collect up to four soil samples from the sidewalls of the excavation and analyze the samples <br /> for total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) as diesel and motor oil (TPH-D and TPH-MO; <br /> Modified EPA Method 8015)and analyze the highest TPH bearing sample for volatile organic <br /> compounds(VOCs;EPA 8260)and semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOCs; EPA Method <br /> }" 8270) if the TPH concentration exceeds 100 mg/kg. <br /> Load and transport the hydrocarbon-affected soil to a Class 11 disposal facility. <br /> f , <br /> r <br /> a F <br />
