Lori Duncan and I represented PHS/EHD. You, Kerry Wasson, and <br /> Bob McMillen represented the County as the responsible party for the contaminated sites. The <br /> following is a summary of the site discussions and PHS/EHD directives for the sites. The Airport <br /> facility at 5000 S. Airport Way, Stockton, was not included in the discussions. <br /> It was discussed that a limited amount of money has been allocated by the County for the <br /> investigaiton and remediation of these sites. It was also discussed that the State of California has <br /> recognized that Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether(MTBE) is a risk to the environment and that in order <br /> to evaluate site priorties the groundwater at each site must be investigated. <br /> 1810 E. HAZELTON,STOCKTON <br /> Soil and groundwater contamination of MTBE as well as petroleum hydrocarbon contaminants <br /> has been confirmed at this site. Currently, this site is of highest priority. The vertical and lateral <br /> extent of the contamination in the soil and groundwater must be defined. In addition, a survey to <br /> locate all wells within 2000 radial feet of this site must be conducted. The Department of Water <br /> Resources should be contacted to determine if they have information (well logs) indicating the <br /> location and construction of wells within 2000 radial feet of this site. In addition, California Water <br /> Service should be contacted to identify the location, construction, and operation of any wells <br /> belonging to them within 2000 radial feet of this site. Any commercial or industrial sites (including <br /> Diamond Walnut)that have wells should be contacted for information, as well as any nearby <br /> residences that may have wells. A physical search of the area may be necessary to make this <br /> determination. A work plan to continue the site investigation which includes the well survey must <br /> be submitted by July 3, 2000. <br /> 145 S. SUTTER,STOCKTON (HUMAN SERVICES) <br /> Quarterly sampling and monitoring of the groundwater at this site must continue. Analysis for <br /> oxygenates has not been performed on the groundwater samples collected from the monitoring <br /> wells at this site. Analysis for MTBE, Ethyl Tertiary Butyl Ether(ETBE), Tertiary Amyl Methyl <br /> Ether(TAME), Tertiary Butyl Alcohol (TBA), and Di-isopropyl ether(DIPE)using EPA Method <br /> 8260 must be performed on the groundwater samples collected from the monitoring wells for this <br /> site for two quarters of sampling. If oxygenates are not detected, the analysis for them can be <br /> discontinued. If oxygenates are detected, analysis for them must continue until otherwise <br /> directed by PHS/EHD. <br /> A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services <br />
