Angelica Sandoval Marin [LH]
From: Angelica Sandoval Marin [EH]
Sent: Monday, April 07, 2014 11:05 AM
To: 'Bill Cook'
Subject: RE: 1810 E. Hazelton
Although we have not completed reviewing the report submitted by Condor,we concur with your recommendation of
adding naphthalene to the sampling schedule. According to the state, this site is an active station, therefore a soil gas
investigation work plan is not necessary. If you believe a work plan should be submitted, please submit your reasoning
and EHD will review it.
Thanks
Angelica
From: Bill Cook [mailto:bcook(o)condorearth.com]
Sent: Monday, April 07, 2014 10:10 AM
To: Angelica Sandoval Marin [EH]
Subject: RE: 1810 E. Hazelton
Thank you Angelica, I will discuss these items with the technician to reinforce that procedures should be followed.
We recently sent the report to your office documenting the December sampling event. We recommended that
naphthalene be added to the analyte list using 82608.Would you like to concur and implement this recommendation on
this round of sampling, or wait until you and Nuel have completed your full review of the report?
We also recommended that a soil vapor investigation work plan including a human health risk assessment be prepared
and then implemented.
From: Angelica Sandoval Marin [EH] [mailto.amarinCubsicehd com]
Sent: Monday, April 07, 2014 9:56 AM
To: Bill Cook
Subject: RE: 1810 E. Hazelton
Bill,
I was out on the sampling event that took place on Friday April 4, 2014 at 1810 E. Hazelton Avenue and have a few items
that I wanted to address:
• The monitor wells MW1 and MW2 have screws that have been stripped away and MW4 has all the screws
missing. Please resolve this issue.
• During the sampling event, I noticed that tech did not measure DTW after purging and before sampling for MW1
and MW2. I advised the tech that this allows us to check for recharge in order to give a representative
sample. I also gave a copy of the recommended groundwater sampling guidelines.
• The EHD was not notified of the sampling event. Please allow a minimum of a week notice prior to sampling
event.
Thanks
1
