(TEM), is pleased to submit this workplan on behalf of
the County of San Joaquin Public Works to perform a site assessment at San Joaquin Countys
Motor Pool facility (SITE) located at 1810 East Hazelton, in the city of Stockton, California.
This workplan has been prepared in accordance with information provided the San Joaquin
County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division.
TECHNICAL APPROACH
For purposes of identification, the above referenced project will be separated into four (4)
areas of concern. Area 1 represents Tank # 3, a gasoline underground storage tank (UST)
removed in 1995. Area 2 represents the tank replacement activities that occurred in November
1998 from Tanks # 1, 2. Area 3 represents Tanks # 6 through 8, which were removed prior to
1979. Area 4 represents Tank # 4, a waste oil UST.
AREA 1
TEM proposes to advance one (1) boring until 20 feet of uncontaminated soil is encountered or
groundwater is detected. If groundwater is identified, the boring will be advanced an
additional 15 feet for the installation of a nested monitoring and vapor well. The boring will
be continuously cored to identify changes in lithology and sampling will occur at five-foot
intervals. A mobile lab will be used to run the analysis of the soil samples. See Figure 1.
AREA 2
TEM proposes to advance one (1) boring by Tank # 1 until 20 feet of uncontaminated soil is
encountered or groundwater is detected. If groundwater is identified, the boring will be
advanced an additional 15 feet for the installation of a monitoring well. Soil samples will be
taken at five-foot intervals. A mobile lab will be used to analyze the soil samples.
1100 Town&Country Road • Suite 1200 • Orange, CA 92868 • (714)560-8200 • (714)560-8211 FAX
Other Locations: San Diego,CA • Concord,CA • Sacramento,CA • Phoenix,AZ • Tucson,AZ
Established 1964
