4.0 <br /> • CONCLUSIONS, RECOMMENDATIONS AND PROJECT STATUS � <br /> I <br /> Between March 7, and May 9, 2003, the groundwater surface rose an average of 0 09 feet, the ' <br /> groundwater flow direction shifted approximately 10 degrees toward the west, and the <br /> groundwater gradient increased from 0 0020 to 0 0068 foot/foot The groundwater flow direction <br /> and gradient have remained relatively consistent over the past four quarters <br /> Between March 7, and May 9, 2003, the concentrations of gasoline compounds in MW-2 <br /> increased As shown on the isoconcentration map for MTBE in groundwater (Figure 5), the lateral <br /> extent of MTBE at the water table is undefined to the south, west and east of the former UST <br /> Between March 7, and May 9, 2003, the free product thickness in MW-1 decreased from 0 45 feet <br /> to a sheen on un-measurable thickness Since the frequency of free product removal was <br /> reduced from weekly to monthly in June 2003, the free product thickness in MW-1 has increased <br /> to 0 10 feet and the product removal volumes have increased from 0 0 to 6 0 ounces <br /> On March 7, 2003, Ramage Environmental submitted to EHD, a site conceptual model and work <br /> plan, which proposed additional site investigation and remedial feasibility testing tasks On July <br /> 14, 2003, EHD approved the work plan Currently, implementation of the approved scope of work <br /> is pending cost pre-approval by the UST Cleanup Fund <br /> Ramage Environmental recommends that the proposed scope of work be completed, upon cost <br /> pre-approval by the UST Cleanup Fund In the meantime, quarterly groundwater monitoring and <br /> sampling, and monthly free product removal should continue <br /> 7 <br />
