i 4.0 CONCLUSIONS, RECOMMENDATIONS AND PROJECT STATUS Between November 26, 2002 and March 7, 2003, the groundwater surface rose an average of ' 1 17 feet, the groundwater flow direction shifted approximately 10 degrees toward the southwest, and the gradient decreased from 0 0041 to 0 0020 foot/foot The groundwater flow direction and gradient have remained relatively consistent over the past three quarters Between November 26, 2002 and March 7, 2003, the concentrations of gasoline compounds in ' MW-2 declined, and only TPH-as-gasoline re-appeared in MW-3 at a low concentration of 55 µg/l As shown on the isoconcentration map for MTBE in groundwater (Figure 5), the lateral extent of MTBE at the water table is undefined to the south, west and east of the former UST Between November 26, 2002 and March 7, 2003, the free product thickness in MW-1 increased from 0 22 to 0 45 feet Between March 7, and May 19, 2003, after 11 weekly free product removal events, a total of 39 0 ounces of free product were removed, and the free product thickness was reduced to a non-measurable sheen I On March 7, 2003, Ramage Environmental submitted to EHD, a site conceptual model and work plan, which proposed additional site investigation and remedial feasibility testing tasks Currently, implementation of the proposed scope of work is pending regulatory approval of the work plan Ramage Environmental recommends that the proposed scope of work be completed, upon regulatory approval of the work plan In addition, based on the reduction of free product in MW-1, Ramage Environmental recommends that the free product removal events be reduced from weekly to monthly This revised free product removal schedule will be initiated in June 2003 7 1
