■ <br />' TAIT Environmental Management, Inc. <br /> Environmental Engineering Compliance <br /> / k <br />' SITE ASSESSMENT REPORT <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY MOTOR POOL FACILITY <br />' 1810 EAST HAZELTON AVENUE <br /> STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA <br /> 1 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This report summarizes the results of the site assessment conducted at the San Joaquin County <br /> Motor Pool Facility (SITE), located at 1810 East Hazelton Avenue in Stockton, California <br /> (Figure 1) The investigation was conducted by Tait Environmental Management, Inc (TEM), <br /> in general accordance with the requirements as stated in the workplan dated January 15, 1999, <br /> approved by Mr Harlin Knoll with the San Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS) <br />' 2.0 SITE SETTING <br />' The SITE is an operating motor pool facility for the San Joaquin County Department of Public <br /> Works The SITE is bound by Hazelton Avenue to the north, South"B" Street to the east, a <br /> railroad yard to the south, and Bieghle Street to the west In addition, the SITE is surrounded by <br />'. residential areas Active fuel dispensing equipment consists of one (1) 10,000 gallon gasoline <br /> underground storage tank(UST), one (1) 10,000 gallon diesel UST, and four (4) product <br /> dispensers (Figure 2) <br />' 3.0 REGIONAL GEOLOGY & HYDROGEOLOGY <br />' The SITE is centrally located within the Great Valley physiographic province of California. The <br /> SITE occurs near the boundary between the San Joaquin Valley to the south, and the Sacramento <br /> Valley to the north, which together form the Central Valley of California <br /> The SITE is underlain by a veneer of Quaternary fine-grained flood-basin deposits which are <br /> underlain by more than 3,000 feet of a heterogeneous mix of generally poorly sorted clay, silt, <br /> sand, and gravel, with some beds of claystone, siltstone, sandstone, and conglomerate which <br /> range in age from Oligocene to Holocene These rocks and sediments are continental in origin <br /> and at depth include Oligocene to Miocene age material of the Valley Springs Formation, and <br />' Miocene and Pliocene age Mehrten Formation deposits The shallow and surficial fine-grained <br /> sediments reflect flood stage deposits from mayor streams which emptied into the Central Valley <br /> from the west <br />' Based on data provided by the City of Stockton Department of Public Works, and the California <br /> Water Company, groundwater in the vicinity of the SITE is estimated to range between 50 and <br />' 60 feet below ground surface (bgs) <br /> 701 North Parkcenter Drive Santa Ana California 92705 - (714)560-8200 (714) 560-8235 fax <br /> Regional Offices San Diego Concord Sacramento Phoenix Tucson <br /> www TAIT com <br />
