(GR) has prepared this
Remedial Action Plan (RAP) for the subject site. This RAP outlines a timely and potentially
effective remedial strategy, that uses existing facilities and a safe and cost efficient groundwater
disposal option. GR proposes to remove approximately 5,000 to 10,000 gallons of groundwater
from the former UST pit on a weekly basis. The analytical results of groundwater samples
collected from the former UST pit demonstrate that previous groundwater removal conducted to
date has been effective in reducing concentrations of dissolved hydrocarbons in the vicinity of
the former UST pit.
SITE DESCRIPTION
The subject site is situated immediately east of the Louise Avenue offramp of Interstate 5 at the
southwest corner of East Louise Avenue and Harlan Road in Lathrop, California (Figure 1).
Current station facilities include two 12,000-gallon double-wall gasoline USTs, two dispenser
islands, related product lines, one canopy, and a station building. Former station facilities
removed during recent construction activities performed in December 1998 and January 1999
included one 10,000-gallon, one 8,000-gallon, and one 6,000-gallon single-wall fiberglass
gasoline USTs, two dispenser islands, related product lines, and two canopies. Six on-site
groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-6) and five off-site groundwater monitoring
wells (MW-8 through MW-12) are present at and around the site. In addition, one 6-inch
diameter temporary groundwater extraction conductor casing was installed in the former UST pit
prior to backfilling. Locations of the pertinent site features are shown on Figure 2.
SITE HISTORY/PREVIOUS ENVIRONMENTAL WORK
A retail gasoline outlet has been located at the subject site since at least 1983. BP Oil Company
(BP) acquired the site from Mobil Oil Corporation in 1989 and sold the site to Tosco in 1994
(Alisto, Additional Site Investigation Report, dated January 25, 1999).
6747 Sierra Court , Suite J • Dublin , California 94568 • ( 925 ) 551 - 7555
