C 1A INTRODUCTION <br /> ' i <br /> BP Oil Company (BP Oil) retained Alisto Engineering Group (Alisto) to conduct a <br /> supplemental site investigation at BP Oil Service Station No. 11195, 16500 South Interstate I-5, <br /> Lathrop, California. A site vicinity map is shown in Figure 1. <br /> 1.1 Purpose and Scope of Work <br /> This work was performed to assess the nature and extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in the <br /> c I subsurface soil and groundwater at the site, and to determine the appropriate courses of <br /> - action to comply with applicable laws and regulations. <br /> The tasks performed during assessment included the following: <br /> • Drilled and logged two exploratory soil borings and collected soil samples. <br /> • Installed groundwater Monitoring Wells MW-6 and MW-7. <br /> • Developed and surveyed the monitoring wells and collected groundwater samples. <br /> • Analyzed soil and groundwater samples for specific hydrocarbon constituents. <br /> • Evaluated data and analytical results. <br /> • Prepared this report presenting the findings of the above tasks. <br /> The above tasks and related field and sampling activities were performed in accordance with <br /> the requirements of the San Joaquin County Public Health Services,Environmental Health <br /> Division (SJCEHD), and the California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley <br /> Region (RWQCB). <br /> 1.2 Site Location and Description <br /> BP Oil Service Station No. 11195 is on the southwest corner of the intersection of Louise <br /> Avenue and Harlan Road, Lathrop, California. The site is an operating service station with <br /> three underground fuel storage tanks and one underground used oil tank. Figure 2 shows <br /> the layout of the site and the locations of the underground fuel storage tanks and dispenser <br /> islands. <br /> Properties adjacent to the site are commercial, residential, or undeveloped.. An Arco service <br /> station is on the northwest corner of the intersection of Louise Avenue and Harlan Road. <br /> There are large undeveloped tracks of land to the south and residential areas to the north. <br /> 1.3 Project Background <br /> i <br /> In December 1992, five groundwater monitoring wells were installed as part of a preliminary <br /> site assessment.
