21300 MANN ROAD Project No.2019-00095 Pa g e 18
term. It is our professional opinion that mitigation measures are not warranted at this time.
However, it should be noted that mitigation measures may be recommended and required
at a later date based on changes in nitrate in the groundwater, and long-term monitoring
results for the region.
7.0 EXISTING AND PROPOSED SEPTIC TANK USAGE
7.1 Existing On-Site Septic Tank Usage,Permits and Repair History
There are three septic permits available for review related to the Site. Permit No. 6765, issued in
1955 is for the installation of a concrete septic tank and disposal field for one 4-bedroom residence;
Permit No. 19634, issued in 1965 is for one new septic tank and disposal field for one 2-bedroom
residential trailer; and Permit No. 68-757 for a new septic tank and disposal field to replace a
dysfunctional system for a 2-bedroom residence.
The permits are available for review in Appendix B.
There are two septic systems associated with non-permitted structures that are to be demolished;
reportedly, there will be no septic systems remaining on site prior to the installation of the newly
proposed residence and associated septic system.
7.2 Expected Maximum Septic Tank Usage for Site
Expected maximum septic tank usage for the Site is to accommodate a proposed three-bedroom,
two-bath,single-family residence.
7.3 General Area Septic Tank Usage,Permit,and Repair History
In an attempt to determine the septic system density for the vicinity of the site,our office reviewed a
recent aerial photograph available from GoogleEarthTM. We counted the clusters within
approximately one square mile of the site,with the assumption each building cluster has one septic
system. Using this method, we determined there are approximately 140 septic systems per square
mile in the immediate vicinity of the site.This is a low amount of septic systems,with the majority of
these systems located on large tracts of agricultural land.
The EHD septic permit files were obtained from the San Joaquin Environmental Health Department
(EHD) Online EHD Program Records6 in an effort to obtain copies of permits for any septic tanks
located within the general area of the subject property.
Copies of the septic search permits for surrounding parcels have been included in Appendix C of this
report.The records are summarized in the following table:
6 https://lfweb.sjgov.org/WebLink/Browse.aspx?dbid=18cr=1 accessed September 9, 2019
Petralogix Engineering,Inc.
26675 Bruella Road,Galt,Ca 95632
(209)-400-5729 4P
www.petraloglx.com
