Mohr-Fry Ranches
950 Industrial Drive, Stockton, California May 30, 1996
• Bioremediation Report page; 3
' 3.1 Soil Sampling
Soil samples were taken in 1" by 6" brass sleeves from relatively undisturbed, soil
' Samples were collected from within the treatment cell with a hand operated drive
hammer spoon sampler All soil sampling equipment was thoroughly washed with
tnsodium phosphate and then rinsed thoroughly before and between sampling to
' prevent cross contamination The soil samples did not have head space and were
immediately sealed in their Inners using aluminum foil lined plastic caps The
samples were then sealed in air-tight plastic bags and immediately placed in an ice
' chest cooled with Blue Ice® All samples were then transported with appropriate
chain of custody documents to California Laboratory Services, a State-certified
laboratory located in Rancho Cordova, California Sampling was witnessed by Mr
' Steve Sasson representing the San Joaquin County PHS/EHD on November 11,
1995
3.2 Requested Analysis
Soil samples were analyzed using EPA method 3550 LLFT for Total Petroleum
Hydrocarbons as Diesel, Motor Oil, and Gasoline, and EPA method 8020 for
Benzene, Toluene, Xylene and Ethyl Benzene (Table 1, Table 2, & Appendix A)
I3.3 Analytical Findings
All samples tested "ND", None Detected, for Benzene, Toluene, Ethyl Benzene,
Xylene and Gasoline (Table 1, Table 2, and Appendix A) Diesel and Motor Oil
contaminants were detected in many of the soil samples (Table 1 and 2)
However, these detection and/or levels are below the 1,000 mg/kg level identified
in the LUFT assessment found in Appendix B of this report All sample locations
are identified in Figure 3 Analytical data with chain of custody records can be
Ireferenced in Appendix A-
4.0 Conclusions do Recommendations
All contaminated soil from the remedial excavations was treated for a duration of twelve
months The volatile aromatic compounds (BTX&E) have since been removed (Table 1
& Appendix A) coupled with the levels of Diesel and Motor Oil being significantly
diminished (Table 2 & Appendix A) Satisfactory action was taken under a different
contract to mitigate the acetone previously released from the two 8,000 gallon tanks
., (Section 2 0 of this report) Contamination, associated with the groundwater, has not
been detected in any of the last four(4) quarterly groundwater monitoring events
