ambulance or medical assistance, if necessary. When the skin is exposed to chemicals; wash off <br /> skin with a large amount of potable water immediately. Remove any contaminated clothing and <br /> rewash skin using soap, if available. When eyes are exposed to chemical(s); hold eyelid open <br /> and rinse the eye immediately with copious amounts of water for 15 minutes. The wearing of <br /> contact lenses by Site personnel is prohibited. However, if someone at the Site is wearing <br /> contacts, have the person remove his/her contact lenses, if possible. Never permit the eyes to be <br /> rubbed. Transport person to a hospital, if necessary. <br /> 6.2 Emergency Evacuation Procedures <br /> Various emergencies may warrant a Site evacuation. These may include: fire, explosion, <br /> chemical release, or personal injury. Field team personnel encountering a hazardous situation <br /> shall instruct others on Site to shut down operations and immediately evacuate the vicinity. <br /> Contact the Health and Safety Officer and/or the Project Manager for instructions. <br /> In the event of an evacuatio n, the work crew will move upwind, if possible. The post-evacuation <br /> meeting place will be identified at the daily health and safety meeting.
