Following sampling , each of the soil borings will be abandoned using neat cement grout. The
boreholes will be filled with grout from the bottom using a tremie pipe. Following borehole
abandonment, the surface pavement will be restored .
Soil and groundwater samples will be properly contained , labeled , preserved and transported
under chain-of-custody documentation to a state of California certified hazardous waste testing
laboratory for analysis. The soil samples from the capillary fringe interval and from the bottom of
the borehole from each boring will be submitted for laboratory analysis. Based on field
observations and PID measurements, additional soil samples may be submitted for analysis, if
required to adequately characterize the site. Field observations and sample selection will be
reviewed with the EHD inspector, prior to sample submittal to the lab .
The lab will analyze each of the soil samples on a standard turn-around time for TPH-as-
- kerosene, TPH-as-gasoline, and BTEX by EPA Method 8020/8015M . Since concentrations of
TPH-as-motor oil , TPH-as-diesel , oxygenates and 1 , 2-DCA were defined during previous
investigations , further testing for these compounds in soil will be discontinued .
Ii
` The lab will analyze each groundwater sample on a standard turn-around time for TPHas-
kerosene, TPH-as-gasoline and BTEX by EPA Method 8020/8015M , and for MTBE , DIPE ,
ETBE, TAME , TBA, and 1 , 2-DCA by EPA Method 8260B . Since concentrations of TPH-as-
motor oil and TPH-as-diesel have not been detected during the past four quarters of
groundwater sampling at the site, further testing for these compounds in groundwater will be
- discontinued .
3.3 Project Report
Ramage Environmental will document the results of the proposed scope of work in an
environmental site investigation report, according to Appendix A of the Tri-Regional
Recommendations for Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation of Underground Storage Tank
Sites. All reports will be prepared and stamped by a state of California Registered Geologist and
submitted to EHD and RWQCB .
I
I '
10
