W
M TreadweII&P19 b
detected above laboratory reporting limits with the exception of low level concentrations from SB-7 at
53 feet and 76 feet bgs. Measured TPH-g concentrations were 1 . 1 mg/kg at 53 feet and 1 .6 mg/kg at
76 feet bgs.
TPH-k was generally detected in samples where TPH-g was detected but at significantly less magnitudes
in concentration. The highest concentration of TPH-k was reported in SB-2 at 440 mg/kg at 21 . 5 feet
bgs.t The remaining TPH-k concentrations ranged from below detection limits to 310 mg/kg in SB-2
at 3 .5 feet bgs.
7
BTEX compounds were generally not detected above laboratory reporting limits with a few exceptions.
i"
Benzene and toluene were detected in SB-7 at 76 feet bgs at concentrations of 0 . 11 and 0.071 mg/kg, i
respectively. Ethylbenzene was detected at concentrations ranging between 0.032 mg/kg in SB-7 at
1
76 feet to 48 mg/kg in SB-3 at 59.5 feet bgs Xylenes were detected in three samples at concentrations
ranging between 0.018 mg/kg in SB7 at 76 feet bgs to 90 mg/kg in SB-3 at 59.5 feet bgs.
MTBE was not detected in any soil samples above laboratory reporting limits. i
5 . 3 . 1. 2 Test Pits ' J)'Ije1
On 17 November 2004, three test pits (TPA, TPB, and TPC) were excavated and sampled (Figure 2).
TPA was in the location of the former pump island. TPB and TPC were located in the vicinities of the fuel
distribution lines. Samples were ccollected at all three test pits from depths of 2.0, 6. 5 and 10 feet bgs.
TPH-g, BTEX compounds] nd MTBE cited
below the laboratory reporting limits in all samples. The
2.0-foot bgs sample from TPA had a low level detection of 1. 2 mg/kg for TPH-k. Otherwise, all samples
were below the laboratory reporting limits for TPH-k. Lead concentrations were greatest at the 2 .0-foot
depth and generally decreased with depth (Table 1). At 2 feet bgs, lead concentrations were 260 mg/kg, %
7.5 mg/kg, and 23 mg/kg at TPA, TPB, and TPC, respectively. At 6.5 feet bgs, lead concentrations were
25 mg/kg, 3.5 mg/kg, and 4.6 mg/kg at TPA, TPB, and TPC, respectively. At 10 feet bgs, lead
concentrations were 4. 1 mg/kg, 4.3 mg/kg, and 6.7 mg/kg at TPA, TPB, and TPC, respectively.
5.3. 2 Groundwater Results
Results of the investigation indicate that there are two distinct water bearing zones at the Site.
Therefore, discussions of the groundwater results are separated into shallow and deep zones.
8
25971201 . DGD 6 February 2008
