SECTION S <br /> PERSONAL PROTECTION <br /> Personal protective equipment that will be required onsite is divided into respiratory and dermal <br /> protection The assigned protective levels are D and C for respiratory protection and level D for <br /> dermal protection The project geologist shall evaluate each condition and make a determination of <br /> appropriate response action(s) <br /> GENERAL PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT <br /> Hand and Eye Wash Station <br /> A hand and eye wash station will be provided at the jobsite Hands should be washed before eating <br /> and before leaving the jobsite <br /> Gloves <br /> Industry standard work gloves are required to be worn Note that leather and cloth gloves can <br /> absorb liquids such as water or gasoline residues and cannot easily be cleaned or decontaminated <br /> Bit chasers and helpers often come in contact with soil more frequently and may choose to use <br /> special rubber gloves <br /> Eye Wear <br /> Eye glasses are required to be used during all caisson drilling operations and operations where <br /> contaminated soil is being carted or transported <br /> Hard Hat <br /> I <br /> A hard hat is required at all tunes at the jobsite <br /> All personnel onsite must be thoroughly briefed on anticipated hazards, safety practices, emergency <br /> procedures, and communications, and should be trained in the use of safety equipment to be worn <br /> The safety practices Iisted below must be followed <br /> Respirators <br /> Respirator use is not anticipated for this project If respirators are required, the employer must <br /> provide them Employees who have never worn a respirator must be properly trained, fit tested and <br /> medically cleared The proper respirator for this jobsite would be an organic filter cartridge <br /> respirator <br /> • The industrial hygienist shall decide when respirators are required Respirators shall be used <br /> by all personnel located in the hot zone which is that area immediately adjacent to the caisson <br /> drilling work and contaminated soil If respirators are deemed necessary, appropriate <br /> "respirators required" signage must be posed at the entry of the fenced to work area Any <br /> required respiratory protective devices and clothing must be worn by all personnel in areas <br /> designated for wearing protective equipment <br /> Health and Safety Plan for F&H Construction <br /> 130 North Hunter St, Stockton,CA <br /> PvnR i n <br />
