October 1, 2004
NOA Project Number: LE03-034
4.2 Measurement Procedures
Water levels will be measured prior to well development or purging using an electric-line well
sounder. The well sounder will be decontaminated by washing with a solution of potable water and
Liquid-Nox solution or equivalent prior to each measurement event. The water level depth and
' elevation measurements will be measured relative to the surveyed reference notch bottom installed in
the northernmost side of the well casing top (Section 5.0).
4.3 Measurement Tolerances
The depth to the ground water table will be measured with a tolerance of 0.01 feet
The monitoring wells should be developed by mechanical bailer initially followed by pumping and
swabbing as a means to wash or remove any fine particles that have intruded into the sand pack
material during construction.
4.4 Completion Criteria
The completion procedures will continue for a period of two continuous hours or until the discharge
water becomes relatively free of fine particles (clay and silt size particles),which ever occurs first.
' 4.5 Water Disposal Method
The well development ground water will be disposed by discharging it onto the ground surface in the
near vicinity of the well.
5.0 SURVEY DETAILS
A California licensed land surveyor will measure the horizontal and vertical coordinates of the
monitoring wells, using the closest benchmark datum. The northernmost side of the top of the well
casing will be notched and used as a reference point for all future ground water table elevation
measurements. The elevation of the bottom of the reference notch will be measured by the land
surveyor with a tolerance of 0.01 feet MSL. The average ground surface surrounding the immediate
area of the well casing will be measured with a tolerance of 0.1 feet MSL.
6.0 WELL SAMPLING
Representative water samples will be taken from the up-gradient monitoring well and down-gradient
monitoring wells located adjacent to the treatment pond and agricultural application area. The
purpose of the sampling is to characterize both the "background" physical and chemical properties of
the natural ground water and areas which maybe affected by the wastewater treatment pond or
1 application of effluent to agricultural fields.
7 .444
