EIVGEO
INCORPORATED
Monitoring Well Locations
As depicted on Figure 2, the groundwater monitoring well locations listed in the table below
have been selected based on providing one upgradient and two downgradient monitoring points
with respect to four sedimentation basins planned for the expansion project. The stated
groundwater monitoring well purposes are based on an overall northeastward groundwater flow
direction. The anticipated groundwater flow direction is based on hand depth to groundwater
measurements collected on February 6, 2007, from 8 geotechnical boring piezometers installed
in the broad area north of the site and interpolation of ground surface elevations shown on civil
drawings prepared by Carlson, Barbee & Gibson. In addition, the planned well screen intervals
are based on a general depth to groundwater exhibited in all of the geotechnical piezometers of
between 8 to 12 feet below the ground surface (bgs) and a general occurrence of a sandier
aquifer matrix from 10 to 30 feet bgs.
Total Screen
Well ID Depth Interval Seal Depth Groundwater Monitoring Well Purpose
(feet bgs) (feet bgs) (feet bgs)
MW-1 31 21-31 20 Upgradient area baseline characterization
MW-2 31 21-31 20 Downgradient area baseline characterization
MW-3 31 1 21-31 1 20 Downgradient area baseline characterization
Actual monitoring locations will be based on site-specific conditions, but will be within
reasonable limits of the locations shown on Figure 2. For example, the actual locations will be
based on consideration of the following:
• Located on higher ground so as to minimize the effects from existing agricultural flood
irrigation systems and to minimize local interference with surface water infiltration. These
locations may then be at the perimeters of planned use areas which happen to be consistent
with existing agricultural field layouts.
• At locations that are accessible with vehicles.
4943.4.640.01
April 17, 2007 3
