Sutter Home Winery - 2 - 11 May 2017
San Joaquin County
Staff Comments:
Staff agrees that it is possible that water quality in the compliance wells may be influenced by
water in the unlined irrigation canal, as well as waste disposal systems for other nearby facilities.
However, the report does not contain any data to support the conclusion. Additionally, staff note
that the report did not include an assessment of the structural integrity of monitoring wells to
determine if surface water runoff is influencing the wells.
Therefore, by 1 July 2017, please provide a plan and schedule to investigate the integrity of the
monitoring wells and to investigate potential water quality impacts from off-site sources. The plan
shall include a scaled site map that indicates the distances from the monitoring wells to all irrigation
canals and waste disposal systems. Additionally, the plan shall propose additional monitoring as
necessary to evaluate of- site influences on water quality, such monitoring may include sampling of
the irrigation canal and other waste disposal systems.
As a reminder, all documents, including monitoring reports shall be converted to a searchable
Portable Document Format (PDF) and submitted by e-mail to:
centra Iva Ileysacramentona waterboards ca gov. The e-mail shall contain the following: (a) Sutter
Home Winery, Inc., (b) Sutter Home Lodi Winery (c) Title and date of the Report, and (d) CIWIQS
Place ID No. 237277.
