I will amend it accordingly and resubmit. Do I resubmit the Site
Mitigation Fee as well?
I also want to check if we can perform the drilling and soil sampling ourselves under your oversight? The laboratory
samples would be picked up directly by the lab, McCampbell Analytical, Inc.We can schedule the pickup after sampling
is finished while EHD is still present.
Sincerely,
NEIL O. Anderson &Associates, Waste Water Disposal System
Hi Heather,
I'm reviewing section 3.2 of your work plan that proposes drilling two borings 5 feet away from the"drywell". This is not
acceptable,as it does not meet with the US EPA guidance document. The dry wells are to be over drilled and a soil
sample collected in the middle of each well at 1-2 feet below the bottom of the well (at 41-42' bgs) and a second
sample collected 5 feet bgs(at 45' bgs). This should place you into groundwater, if the water table has dropped to that
depth. Recent 2012 San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District Groundwater reported
groundwater at 30-40 bgs at your site. If groundwater has dropped below that depth, then continue drilling through the
borehole, collecting soil samples every five feet, until groundwater is encountered to collect the water samples. If
groundwater is above 40 bgs, then collect the water samples first before the well is over drilled.
Section 3.2.2 is acceptable to collect sludge samples from the drain that runs to the "dry wells" and soil samples 1.5 feet
below the drain,as described.
1
