' Second Quarter Groundwater Monitoring Report—May 2010
Sutter Home Winery
' SAMPLING PROCEDURES AND FIELD OBSERVATIONS Page 3
A Condor representative collected groundwater samples from Site groundwater monitoring wells GW-1
' through GW-18 on May 4, 5, and 6, 2010, for laboratory analyses of boron, chloride, iron, manganese,
sodium, nitrate-N, Ammonia as NH4, total Kjeldahl nitrogen (TKN), TDS, FDS, specific conductance (EC),
and trihalomethanes (bromoform, bromodichloromethane, chloroform, dibromochloromethane) as specified
' in the MRP. Field measurements were collected for pH due to environmental protection agency (EPA)
recommended 15-minute hold times. All down-well field equipment was decontaminated in the field with a
solution of laboratory-grade, non-phosphate detergent and deionized water and rinsed with deionized water
prior to use in each well. All field instruments were calibrated to manufacturer-recommended specifications.
The water level in each well was measured to the nearest 0.01 foot with a battery-operated, flat-tape, water-
level meter. A new, disposable, polyethylene bailer was lowered into each well to collect a field inspection
sample. The bailer samples were inspected for discoloration and odor. The wells were purged with new,
disposable, polyethylene bailers until at least three well-casing volumes of water were removed and the EC,
pH, and temperature of the water stabilized. Purged groundwater was discharged to the ground surface. Field
tforms are included in Appendix C.
Groundwater samples were collected by filling laboratory-supplied containers with groundwater directly
from the disposable bailers. The sample containers were labeled and placed in a cooler with ice.
' Groundwater samples analyzed for trihalomethanes were delivered in accordance with chain-of-custody
procedures to Argon Laboratories (Argon) in Ceres, California, within EPA-recommended hold times.
Groundwater samples analyzed for all other constituents were delivered in accordance with chain-of-custody
' procedures to GeoAnalytical Laboratories, hlc. (GeoAnalytical) in Turlock, California, also within EPA
recommended hold times.
t GROUNDWATER ELEVATIONS AND GRADIENT
The groundwater monitoring wells were resurveyed by Aspen Surveying on March 29, 2010, and referenced
to NAVD 88 datum. A Condor representative collected groundwater level data at the 18 Site groundwater
' monitoring wells and domestic wastewater wells DWS-1 and DWS-2 on May 3, 2010, and at DWS-3 on
May 4, 2010. The groundwater gradient was generally to the west, consistent with historic gradients.
Groundwater elevation data are included in Table 2, on the following page, and groundwater elevation
contours and a hydrograph are shown on Figures 3 and 4,respectively, Appendix A.
ob lklt4
' i41 CONDOR
